Drat the Bad Luck

Well, the party is over. Katie's owner was able to get a ride back home. Katie is back in her home. We have fond memories of her and the great time we had. Thanks for the extra special Christmas gift of K time here.

Love,

The Redmans.

Extend-A-Stay

Thanks, er-I mean, unfortunately due to the storm coming up the east coast, K's stay is extended for two more days. What an unexpected blessing. K is enjoying the day, helping A bring in wood, and playing some fetch in the mean time. K is getting _alot_ of attention and playtime outside as well as catch inside.

Christmas Day

Christmas day was late, due to our early morning activities. A,A, and A, slept till around 9:43AM. We go up and went down stairs to open presents. Our special guest was not forgotten. K got two special toys.

Since K did not arrive with this type of toy, she requited a bit of training. Andrew was more the happy to oblige. The brief training session showed K as a quick learner.

K took to it like a lab to water...you know how that is!?!

So this is our Christmas so far. Katie has been great, despite. I admit to putting her in a bad spot. She probably misses here "Dad", but she does have a new toy...

Christmas Eve

It is our tradition to eat a good meal at home, go to Christmas Eve service, then come home and decorate cookies, and open new PJ's. This year I had the additional responsibility of taking Jim and Judith to the airport at 3AM Christmas day.

We had stuffed tenderloin for dinner. This was Katies undoing. We left for church, and when we returned, Katie had neatly taken out _only_ the meat wrapper, and some parchment used in the meat preparation...shredded! She was so embarased when we came home. But, we cleaned it up, and went on with the festivities.

Katie waited patiently while we decorated our cookies. Once that was done, we opened the pJ's and went to bed. T and I wrapped presents, and I got ready. I needed to take Jim and Judith the airport to leave for PR at 3AM.

So I got up at 3AM, and got ready went down stairs. Took down the gate, and went to the living room. J & J showed up about 320AM, and I left. When I arrived home, on the floor of the living room was one lone gift separated from all the rest. It just happened to be the Vegemite Alissa got for Andrew for Christmas. This was the ONLY gift from under the tree molested in any fashion. I put that back together, and went in to the kitchen.  The wrappers were back on the floor, as if there was anything left for her to collect. But I remind you _only_ the meat wrappers. I laughed while K was embarrassed on her bed. It was a Christmas event, one of many memories we have this year. To you and many, a nasty time. To us, part of living with a special house guest.

Tomorrow....Christmas!

Katie Let's Us Know

Who is boss. To let you hear her for the rest of the week.

Another Day

Today was another day with K. Filled with fun. The kids were out playing with her outside. She went for a walk, and helped bring in wood. She found her favorite chair. It just happens to be in Alissa's room.

Tracy was looking all over the house for K. Finally she found her in the chair in Alissa's room. What  a hoot. We had another first as well.

We are sitting around tonight after the evenings events, and visiting. K walks in, and right over the top of me. I would not have been so 'irritating', but she stepped on me...twice. What a laugh we all had.

K is being good, and loving the business, I think. One thing we have noticed, she is busy. She follows T almost everywhere in the house while she is going about her business.

More tomorrow.

Katie's Catchup

Katie has been with us for about 5 days. In that time, she has met 15 new people, played with 5 different kids besides Andrew, Alissa, and Amanda. She is very well behaved, save the time she woke Alissa up every hour to come down stairs and play. This started around 3 am on Sunday morning. But, all in all she is a pleasure to have in the house. Our schedule takes a bit to get used to.

On Sunday, we left to go to church. We went to a church near by. I came home for some items, and then left again. We came home after getting our regular lunch of Subs. About 30 minutes later, Gramma Goldie comes and stays for about an hour. Shortly after that, we started our weekly ritual of rest, finishing up homework, and laxing 'round the house. Very low key. Today, things got a bit more exciting. Amanda went out to sled. Katie was outside and loved the exercise. She was running around in circles as Amanda was up and down the hill. I think K is actually tired. I have not seen her since the kids went to bed. She does love bed time!

Up the stairs, down the stairs, up the stairs, down the stairs, following the kids as they come and go. Running around up stairs while teeth are brused, and T or I am trying to get some email read/written in the interim. It is a great day running, and K makes the mornings more exciting. More later.
